This is one of the biggest responses that Surrey County Council has ever had to a consultation, and will ensure that the views of residents can play a key role in decisions to be made in the coming months.
This response follows a wide-ranging communications and engagement campaign. Council officers met face to face with a range of stakeholders, as well as holding three days of community events which saw them discuss the review with more than 200 residents and hand out a further 600 questionnaires.
The results of the consultation will be carefully analysed over the next month, and once proposals have been drawn up these will be reviewed through the council’s democratic process before going to cabinet for approval on 26 May. We'll let residents know about any agreed changes to local transport services in June, with the changes coming into effect from late August 2015.
I would like to thank you for your help in encouraging residents to have their say on these important services. If you would like any more information about the consultation or next steps for the local transport review, please visit www.surreycc.gov.uk/transportreview
